HEAVY M.E.T.A.L GROUP

Anger Management
Therapy That Ends the Pattern, Not Just the Moment

Most programs teach you to count to ten. The Heavy M.E.T.A.L 7-Step Masterclass goes deeper — addressing the real reasons men lose control and replacing those patterns with lasting change. David Nugent has been through the journey himself. He built this program because of it.

A Program Built Around the Real Reasons Men Lose Control

The Heavy M.E.T.A.L 7-Step Masterclass doesn't skim the surface. It gets to the root of why the behaviour happens — and replaces it with something that actually works in the real world.

01

Recognising the Impact

Featured on ABC TV "Call Me Dad" and "Primal Fear"

02

Taking Ownership

Moving from blame and justification to genuine accountability for your actions.

03

Understanding Your Triggers

Identifying the patterns, thoughts, and environments that escalate your behaviour before it escalates.

04

Emotional Literacy

Developing the language and skills to express what you feel constructively, rather than through control or aggression.

05

Rebuilding Trust

Practical strategies for repairing damage in relationships and proving — through action — that you've changed.

06

Healthy Communication

Learning to engage in conflict without intimidation, withdrawal, or explosion.

07

Sustaining Change

ilding the habits, mindset, and ongoing accountability to make this permanent — not just a phase.

Nobody changes a lifetime of behaviour in a few weeks. This program is for men who are serious — not men looking for the easiest way through. If that's you, David is ready.

You Already Know Something Has to Change

The arguments that go too far. The look on your partner's face. The silence when you walk in. You know it. And the longer you wait, the harder it gets to come back from.

Most men don't reach out because they're afraid of being judged, blamed, or told they're beyond help. At Heavy M.E.T.A.L, none of that happens. David has been exactly where you are — and he built this program because of it. This is the call you've been putting off. Make it today.

Men Who Made the Call. Men Who Changed Their Lives.

These aren't hand-picked success stories. They're the kind of outcomes that happen when a man decides he's done making excuses.

Why Men Choose Heavy M.E.T.A.L Over Every Other Program

There are other options out there. Here is why men who have tried them keep ending up here.

1. You're Talking to Someone Who Has Lived It

David Nugent isn't a clinician working from theory. He was a violent and abusive man who changed his own life before dedicating it to helping others do the same. Men respond to that honesty in a way no textbook approach can replicate.

2. Practical and Structured — Not Vague Self-Help

Every session has a purpose. The 7-step framework is built around real behavioural change, not feel-good conversations. You will be challenged. You will know exactly why. And you will leave with tools you can actually use.

3. No Shame. No Lectures. No Judgment.

This is a space where men can be honest about what they've done without being condemned for it. That environment — built deliberately by David and his team — is what makes genuine change possible.

4. Built for Lasting Change in Relationships

The goal isn't just to stop the bad behaviour. It's to build emotional intelligence, communication skills, and the kind of self-awareness that improves every relationship in your life — long after the program ends.

5. Accessible Wherever You Are in Australia

Sessions run face to face in Cranbourne and Narre Warren, and online via Zoom for clients anywhere in Australia. Pre-recorded classes also available. Health fund rebates apply through Bupa, Medibank Private, AHM, and Police Health Fund.

The Man Behind the Program Has Sat Exactly Where You're Sitting

David Nugent founded Heavy M.E.T.A.L Group in 2004 — not because he studied the problem from the outside, but because he lived it from the inside. Before founding the program, he was a violent and abusive man who reached a point where change was the only option. He made that choice, saved his relationship, and dedicated the next two decades to helping other men do the same.

He holds a Graduate Certificate in Social Science (Male Family Violence), a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling with La Trobe University, and is a Member of the Australian Counselling Association, No To Violence (NTV), and an Accredited Professional Supervisor. He has appeared on ABC TV's 4 Corners and documentary Call Me Dad, lectured at Monash University, and was named Casey Australia Day Non-Resident of the Year in 2017.

When you call the Heavy M.E.T.A.L number, David picks up. Because he knows that first conversation is the one that counts.
